Imogene L. Cathey serves as general counsel at Pennsylvania’s Seton Hill University. As a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA), Imogene Cathey has presented on various Title IX compliance issues at NACUA conferences and workshops. A significant part of Title IX compliance relates to the requirement that institutions designate an on-campus coordinator to monitor compliance with regard to discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, and sexual assault. In an effort to support member institutions, NACUA has created a online training course for Title IX coordinators. In NACUA’s eight-session course, coordinators and other administrators will learn relevant policies and procedures, and be trained to handle the position’s various responsibilities. Topics include conducting prompt investigations, handling complaints, and understanding sexual harassment and violence. The course includes instructor-facilitated learning with experienced NACUA member attorneys as well as self-study. Materials, such as virtual PowerPoint seminars, self-assessments, and supplemental resources, can be accessed any time, and students can interact with instructors during three separate webinar portions of the course. The cost of the course is $349 for NACUA member institutions and $449 for non-members.
