About Imogene Cathey
Since 2010, attorney Imogene Cathey has served in various capacities in the office of the general counsel, including her current role as a deputy general counsel. She has represented and counseled the school in all areas of higher education law affecting its legal rights and responsibilities with an emphasis on matters of finance, government regulation, employment law, student affairs and athletics. Additionally, Imogene Cathey has collaborated with other educational institutions in the surrounding area to create unique partnerships with the private sector.
During the course of her career, Ms. Cathey has delivered speeches and presentations at seminars, conferences, and other professional gatherings on a wide range of topics.
Imogene Cathey is admitted to practice law in North Carolina, the District of Columbia, and Florida. In addition, she enjoys membership in several professional organizations, including the North Carolina Black Lawyers Association, the Virgil Hawkins Florida Chapter of the National Bar Association, and the National Association of College and University Attorneys.
In her leisure time, Imogene Cathey likes to travel to islands in the Caribbean. She has visited the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Aruba, and Jamaica.
