Imogene Cathey graduated with a juris doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in Gainesville, and is currently general counsel for Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Imogene Cathey has been a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA) since 2004.
Founded in 1960 by a group of attorneys who often litigated cases concerning colleges and universities, the NACUA strives to help institutions of higher learning by educating lawyers and administrators about the legal nuances of their industry. It also promotes continuing education for higher education’s legal counselors.
In addition, the NACUA creates legal resources, maintains a listserv (NACUANET), and provides a platform where campus-based attorneys can network and share valuable information about recent legal questions and cases.
The NACUA’s mission is to encourage improvement in legal service provided by college and university attorneys, and its members are dedicated to the values of “quality, collegiality, diversity, inclusiveness and respect.”
